Convert PictraMap Animations to Videos: Built-in Feature Released

Tchin-tchin! Cheers to the most requested feature finally released. Now you can convert your animations to videos using our built-in Screen Capture feature.

Remember how we partnered up with Movavi a while back to provide you with an option to convert your animations to videos? Many took advantage of it but that solution wasn’t ideal for travelers who would never use a screen capturing program ever again, or were not tech savvy or willing to learn a 3rd party program for what they thought should be a quick and easy job within our platform.

We worked really hard on bringing a solution to you. We won’t bore you with the details of the long and wild ride this feature had to take before making it to you (we’ll only say we had to start over several times!)

At last, the built-in Screen Capture feature is here. It’s been available to our premium users for the past couple of months ‘in secret’. We did some improvements based on user feedback and it’s time we presented it to everyone today 🙂

Search by GPS Coordinates, Full HD Pics and New Maps Released

People say good things come in threes so to make sure you have an awesome day, we’ve prepared for you three new things today 🙂

First – a better search. An overwhelming amount of people asked for the ability to search for a location by its GPS coordinates, not only by name. So we implemented it.

Check it out – all you need to do is type the coordinates based on standard decimal degrees in the search field in the Map module and hit ‘Enter’. For example, entering 40.6892, -74.0445 in the search field would add a pin for the Statue of Liberty in the US.

New Customization Options Now Available in the ‘Extras’ Tab

We’re not kidding when we say that all the features we develop are a direct result of travelers’ feedback. Members send us requests, we listen and plan development according to demand – it’s that simple 😉

We’ve been working on a few of the most requested features by the community and we’re happy to say they’re now available in the ‘Extras’ tab on the platform.

Higher Zoom Levels and New Maps Released

An overwhelming amount of travelers asked for a higher zoom level for some of the maps so the past few months we’ve been working on that. Our goal is to have only maps with maximum zoom level so we’ll be updating our maps as we go.

Today, we release a higher zoom level for two of the most used maps.

Switching to Explore Mode of Your Travel Animations

We started getting requests from users for the ability to pause a travel animation so that they can deliver a presentation while the travel animations are playing.

You cannot pause the animation like you would pause a video (since it’s an animation, not a video) but you do have the ability to toggle between “animation” and “explore” mode to control the pace with which you view it.

You do know the travel maps you create with PictraMap are not only animated but interactive as well, right?

How to Show Photos between Locations

By now you probably know how to add photos to each location, part of your animated travel map. But did you find the way of adding photos between locations?
If you didn’t, here’s how.

To show photos in your animated travel map on your way between locations, first you need to add a location where you want the photo to appear and then, to turn that location into a waypoint.

When you are editing a project, you can see a pin for each location in the Map module. Click a pin and the customization options will be revealed.
